During the final quarter of 2017 we.CONECT conducted a smart manufacturing market survey with 220+ industry decision makers. The online-survey was taken by cross-industry IoT & smart manufacturing managers from leading international companies – most of them are senior executives on (Vice) President or Director level. They gave us thrilling insights on smart manufacturing challenges as well as current budgets and viewpoints on Industrial IoT.
Key Facts (Extract)
- Costs (58%), infrastructure access (40%) and resistance from management (25%) are the most frequent challenges regarding smart manufacturing implementation.
- Only 14% of the polled organizations are advanced in term of applying IoT to their business and operation. Most companies still have islands of connectivity (40%).
- Approx. a third of the participants have no budget for IoT at the moment. Another third plans to spend more than $1,000,000 on IoT implementation.
